Ceylon 1921-32 100r grey-black, Script watermark, printing variety 'Break in lines below left scroll' (R4/9) SG359he. .
A perfectly-centred very fine example with lovely fresh colour and full original gum, very lightly hinged . The odd shortish perforation mentioned for accuracy only as this is a particularly prominent example of this variety.
Printed by De La Ru, bearing the classic portrait of George V.
A very rare printing variety in excellent condition. Most 100r were fiscally used and mint post examples are scarce and particularly rare well-centred with gum. This is the first example of this rare printing variety we have ever handled.
Accompanied by a Sismondo Certificate of Authenticity (2011) incorrectly describes the shade as 'brownish grey', but gives the correct SG number.
