A complete collection of photographs signed by the 12 Apollo Moonwalkers:
Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, Pete Conrad, Alan Bean, Alan Shepard, Edgar Mitchell, David Scott, James Irwin, John Young, Charles Duke, Eugene Cernan and Harrison Schmitt.
Each glossy photograph measures 10" by 8" and is in excellent condition.
The 12 men have signed their respective photos in blue, black or gold marker pen, with each signature ideally placed within the image.
The autographs of Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Pete Conrad have no inscriptions.
The autographs of Alan Shepard and John Young feature personalised dedications.
The other seven men have added inscriptions which feature the name of their mission, and comments on the portraits themselves.
Alan Bean writes “A brisk walk on the Ocean of Storms”, in reference to the vast expanse on the near side of the Moon which covers 2 million square kilometers.
Edgar Mitchell writes “On the Moon in the Fra Mauro Highlands”, the area of the lunar surface where Apollo 14 landed in February 1971.
Charlie Duke writes “Checking out my spacesuit that would help me walk on the Moon!”.
And Dave Scott writes “Leaving crew quarters for launchpad 39A”, the famous site at the Kennedy Space Centre which launched every Apollo mission to the lunar surface.
This is a unique set of autographs would be impossible to replicate today, as only four of the signers survive.
A truly superb collection for anyone with a passion for space and aviation history. Read about these in greater depth in our newsletter.
