Well struck coin on large flan, all details clear with little to no wear. Very rare in this quality. Superb portrait of Philip I! of Spain who had married Mary Tudor. It is interesting to note in the obverse legend that he styles himself as ‘King of England’ Philip married Mary in 1555 but after her death continued to claim England. This eventually led to his launching the Armada to take back his kingdom from Elizabeth in 1588.
About Extremely Fine and well struck.
