Description

South Africa 1926-27 1d black and carmine, Pretoria typo printing, block of 4, the left vertical pair ERROR IMPERFORATE THREE SIDES, SG31b.

A very fine and fresh mint block with original gum. Insignificant gum wrinkles mentioned for accuracy only as it is a most spectacular quality example of this rare error.

A lovely stamp depicting Dromedaris (Jan van Riebeeck's ship), the arrival of which in the Cape on 6th April 1652 marked the beginning of permanent European settlement in the region.

The Stanley Gibbons catalogue value is £1,100.
