Description

  • A newspaper clipping signed by US general and president Dwight D Eisenhower
  • Presented in an attractive wooden frame alongside a headshot

Dwight D Eisenhower (1890-1969) served as Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces during the second world war. He ran a bold military campaign and is credited with bringing the conflict to a relatively swift conclusion.

After the war Eisenhower moved into politics. The US public elected him 34th President of the United States in 1953. He spent much of his two terms establishing the US as a bulwark against the Soviets. Among his greatest achievements in office were the Civil Rights Act of 1957 and the establishment of NASA.

This newspaper clipping shows Eisenhower and a member of his staff on an inspection tour of post-war Germany in 1951.

Eisenhower’s autograph is large and bold, executed in black ink that has faded to brown with age.

It’s housed in a large wooden frame, along with an excellent headshot of Eisenhower in his military uniform. A stunning keepsake from one of America’s greatest leaders.
