An excellent set of autographs from the three principal cast members of US TV sitcom Bewitched (1964-1972)
Bewitched starred Elizabeth Montgomery (1933-1995) as witch turned housewife Samantha and Dick York (1928-1992) as her long-suffering husband. The show has been in syndication since the early 1970s. It remains popular with generations of Americans.
This fabulous display piece features three signatures from the main stars of Bewitched – Dick York (Darrin Stevens), Elizabeth Montgomery (Samantha Stephens) and Erin Murphy (Tabitha Stephens).
Montgomery has signed on a cheque for $74.50 made out to a pool service based in Westlake Village, California. It’s dated May 3, 1978.
York’s signature and inscription (“Best Wishes Dick York”) features on a cut album page. York starred in Bewitched for 156 episodes from 1964-1969. He left when his chronic back pain made standing impossible. Keen viewers will notice he spent most of his time sitting or lying down in later episodes.
Erin Murphy's autograph also features the inscription “Tabitha” – the character she appears as in the show.
