Princess Mary, Duchess of Gloucester and Edinburgh was one of King George III’s four daughters. This made her an aunt to Queen Victoria, who had a particular fondness for her.
Princess Mary's governess Lady Charlotte Finch (1725-1813) collected this set of three one-inch strands of hair in December 1782.
