In superb condition.
The huge traditional fruitcake was the work of Dawn Blunden and Mary Robinson, who run the specialist bakery Sophisticake in Lincolnshire.
They also produced 2,500 additional slices such as this one, which were then sent out as gifts in special commemorative tins designed by Irish artist Alec Cobbe.
Cobbe's colourful hand-pinted design includes the titles H.R.H The Prince of Wales and H.R.H The Duchess of Cornwall, along with the date of the wedding 9th April 2005, and the couple's Royal crests and cyphers.
The original gift cards sent with the cake, also designed by Cobbe, are included.
Provenance:
This piece of cake was originally gifted to Mr Philip Grant, owner of The House of Cheese shop in Tetbury, England. Charles and Camilla, whose home Highgrove House is nearby, were regular customers and the shop held a Royal Warrant.
