Description

  • A handsome signed photo from British king George V (1865-1936).

King George III reigned from 1910 to 1936.

The death of his elder brother, Albert, placed George unexpectedly first in line to the throne.

A grandson of Queen Victoria, king George ruled during the first world war, and was hugely popular with his subjects.

A stunning ink signature, "George R.I,” on a handsome signed photo depicting George on horseback. He was a keen horseman. In very good condition.

May 24th 1920.

The “R.I” in George’s signature denotes “Rex Imperator”, the Latin for “King of the Empire”.
