Great Britain King Edward VII 1909 1½d colour trial, SG221var.
A very fine example printed in dull purple on yellow, gummed, Crown watermarked paper.
The stamp was produced for the proposed monocolour issue that was subsequently abandoned on the death of the King.
Very rare, no more than two or three examples of each colour recorded in private hands.
