Great Britain 1883 10s Greenish Grey, Plate 1 (White Paper), SG135 – Worthing Circular Date Stamp
A very fine used example of the 1883 10 shillings greenish grey, Plate 1, printed on white paper, lettered 'AC' and neatly struck with a crisp Worthing circular date stamp for July 25, 1884.
This high-value surface-printed issue is particularly difficult to find in such fresh and well-centred condition, especially with a clear, dated cancellation rather than the heavy obliterations typical of the period.
Accompanied by a 2005 Royal Philatelic Society (RPS) certificate of authenticity.
A scarce and highly desirable classic of late Victorian high values. One of the hardest Queen Victorian surface printed stamps to find, and an unfilled space in most collections.
