A very fine used example sent from Claremorris, Ireland via Ballyglass and Longford to Newtown Forbes, and then redirected to Bristol, England. Neatly cancelled by a red Maltese Cross and marked with a black manuscript "1" to indicate postage due upon redirection
Backstamps and transit marks include Claremorris dispatch 'SE.25.1840', Ballyglass and Longford transits: 'SE.26.1840', Newtown Forbes arrival, Dublin transit 'SE.27.1840' and Bristol arrival 'SP.29.1840'.
