Northern Nigeria 1910-11 set of 11 to 10s, overprinted 'SPECIMEN', watermark MCA, SG28s/39s.
A very fine set with some of the values unmounted mint and the others with most original gum. Other than one shortish perforation on the 5s stamp, an exceptional quality set.
A scarce King Edward VII set, particularly in such fine condition.
"SPECIMEN" examples were used solely by postal administrations for reference purposes to help spot any attempted forgeries.
