Great Britain 1909 2d Colour trial, SG225var.
Very fine example printed in purple on orange tinted (white backed), gummed, unwatermarked paper. Produced for the proposed monocolour issue that was subsequently abandoned on the death of the King.
Trimmed perforations at right, nevertheless very rare, no more than two or three examples of each colour recorded in private hands.
