Great Britain 1891 £1 green plate 3, SG212.
Superb unused with original gum example lettered TA from plate 3 without "frame break" variety.
Very scarce and far more difficult to find than plate 2 examples with the frame break variety.
GB Specialised Catalogue No: K17aa.
The most distinctive of the great Victorian high values named "The Long One Pound", notable for its imposing size and £1 face value.
Rarely encountered in this superb mint condition.
The famous “Long One Pound” stamp is widely recognised as the brightest Victorian stamp issue. Although, in typical form, many new budding philatelists of the day were not impressed with this design which didn’t fit properly in their stamp album.
It did not survive long and was only in issue a short time.
