A rare autographed Coronation photograph showing Queen Elizabeth seated flanked by her standing Maids of Honour. Signed at the base of the photograph “Elizabeth R 1953”. The reverse is inscribed: “To Ethel wishing you a Happy New Year and Christmas from Lady Anne”.
Sold in a period frame with easel back. Frame measures 14.5cm x 12cm.
Lady Anne is Lady Anne Coke, who is pictured as a Maid of Honour. She gifted the picture to a servant in her home.
The photograph is a copy from the official Coronation pictures taken by Cecil Beaton. He posed this image after the ceremonies in the Green Drawing Room at Buckingham Palace.
