A recent auction of fine wine at Zachys in Washington DC raised a massive $5.4m.
DRC wine remains in huge demand
In all 717 lots featured, representing top producers from across the world.
Burgundies were in demand as always, with 45 separate lots of Domaine de la Romanee-Conti (DRC) selling for a combined $525,087.
Twelve bottles of Rousseau Chambertin 2010 sold for $34,440, a record for the producer.
There was also a wide selection of California wines.
The buyer’s premiums from these lots went to the relief efforts following the fires that ripped through northern California in October.
