Paris' iconic Tour d'Argent restaurant is to auction off a selection from its famous wine cellars at Artcurial on May 9-10.

There are three bottles of the 1788 cognac offered in the sale

The restaurant maintains a staggering collection of around 350,000 bottles, many dating back well over a century.  

Among the highlights of the sale will be three bottles of 1788 Grande Fine Clos du Griffier cognac, each of which is valued at $22,000-23,000.

The sale will also feature tableware, glasses and various objets d'art - including a screen painted by artist Bernard Cathelin (valued at $2,200-3,300).
