Revealed: the modern vintages that excelled at Acker's recent auction

Bordeaux led the way at Acker's May 21 New York auction, with 12 bottles of Chateau Lafite Rothschild 2000 among the top picks.

The lot made $31,720, while a smaller collection of 10 bottles achieved $26,840.

There was also good news for investors thinking of selling Chateau Lafite Rothschild 1996 in the near future, as 12 bottles went for a solid $19,520.

The 2003 vintage also had its admirers, a collection of 12 bottles achieving $18,300.

Acker will be hoping for similar success at its forthcoming Hong Kong wine auction on May 27 and 28, where sales have been strong in the past.

In December 2009, a 1,000 lot Acker Hong Kong auction achieved $7.85m, with 99.3% of lots selling.
