Rare Mouton Rothschild and Lafleur wines auction online, tomorrow

Tomorrow (June 23), the New York-based auctioneer Acker Auctions will be offering plenty of great wines for sale in the city's famous Meatpacking District.

Star lots in the first session include 12 bottles of the legendary 1982 Chateau Mouton Rothschild, described by Acker as "perfect... [its] immortal effort might be capable of lasting for 100 years!"

The 12 bottles of the 1982 will auction priced $12,000-16,000.

Other highlights include six bottles of the Chateau Lafleur 2000, a recipient of leading critic Robert Parker's full 100-point score. The lot is expected to bring $9,000-12,000.

Elsewhere, one imperial (a French oversized bottle holding six and half litres) of the Chateau Petrus 1993 will appear priced $5,000-7,000.

The sale will also feature a collection of 1993 vintage wines "built for one reason, the birth of a daughter... [and for] a college tuition fund.

"Seventeen years later, the time has come for the plan to come to fruition."

Online bidding will be available for wine collectors all over the world to get involved, with an internet-only session being held the following day.
