Over 100 cases of first growth Bordeaux for sale at Hart Davis Hart's wine auction

Hart Davis Hart Wine Co. have announced the highlights of their upcoming auction of Finest and Rarest Wines, which will take place on May 6th and 7th at award-winning restaurant Tru, located at 676 North St. Clair Street in Chicago.

The impressive two-day sale will feature several private cellars from the Eastern Seaboard and multiple collections from the Midwest and West Coast, including a magnificent collection of First Growth Bordeaux, large-format bottlings and an exciting range of wines from the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti.

Full-case Bordeaux from top vintages 1982, 1995, 1996, 2000 and 2005 are featured throughout the sale.

There will be 81 lots of DRC on the block, including the 1997, 1998 and 2001-2005 vintages from the famous Romanée-Conti vineyard. Collectors of California wine will have a bounty to choose from, including a complete library of Screaming Eagle from the debut 1992 vintage through 2007. The pre-sale auction estimate is $4.4-$6.6m.

Two of the expected highlights are a case of 1982 Château Pétrus listed at $42,000-65,000 and three bottles of the 2005 Romanée-Conti  which are expected to bring $28,000-42,000. Either should make an excellent investment.
