Macallan 55 whisky auctions for $21,000 at Bonhams

A bottle of Macallan 55 achieved £12,500 ($20,790) in a sale at Bonhams London on February 26.

The exclusive scotch is contained within a Lalique-designed crystal bottle numbered 220 of an edition of 420.

Earlier this year, the Macallan "M" decanter, which features six litres of Macallan 55, sold for $628,000 at Sotheby's Hong Kong - setting a new world record for a bottle of whisky at auction.
