Louis XIII cognac magnum offered with $500,000 estimate

A crystal magnum decanter of Louis XIII cognac will sell in a dedicated auction at Sotheby's.

Louis XIII cognac
The decanter will be sold to benefit the Film Foundation

The cognac is a unique blend created by Remy Martin's cellar master Baptiste Loiseau and is expected to sell for $100,000-500,000.

It's presented in a decanter etched with a map of the Americas and housed in a case designed by Hermes.

The proceeds will be donated to the Film Foundation, founded by director Martin Scorsese, which funds the preservation of classic movies.

The lot will sell in New York on September 10.

Two other pieces (engraved with maps of Asia and Europe) will sell in Hong Kong and London, respectively, later in the year.
