Top chefs, including the James Beard award-winning Traci Des Jardins, are descending on Lake Tahoe in the Sierra-Nevada mountains for the 24th annual Food and Wine festival from 11th-13th September.
The festival includes the opportunity to taste a number of wines, including Suisun Valley Wineries, Lion-Nathan, Tahoe Ridge, Lolonis, Truckee River Winery and others early on, along with traditional grape-stomping.
The more exciting events of wine-lovers are later on, however.
There is a seminar on pairing wine and cheese which intends to be the finest of its kind in the world, with Kim Caffrey presenting the exquisite wines of Silver Oak and Twomey wine cellars and John Raymond, of Raymond Cheesemongers, presenting fabulous cheeses to pair them with.
Chef Mark Estee of Moody's Bistro and Loungewill give a presentation on cuts of pork and how best to pair them with wine.
Kathleen Inman will take guests through tastings of recent Pinot Noirs, along with some special surprise wines from deep in Inman family cellar.
The festival concludes with a Wine and Merchandise auction.
Aside from wine, the festival also gives opportunities to learn about rolling sushi and pairing it with sake, chocolate truffles and Tequila along the way.
