A bottle of 55-year-old Glenfiddich Janet Sheed Roberts Reserve has sold for $52,000 at an auction in Toronto, Canada.
In doing so it has become the most valuable bottle of whisky ever to auction in Canada, despite falling short of its $70,000 estimate.

Distilled on new year's eve in 1955, just 15 bottles of the single malt were produced in 2011, to celebrate the 110th birthday of Janet Sheed Roberts (known as Wee Janie), the granddaughter of William Grant, Glenfiddich's founder.
Eleven of those bottles are being offered to the public through auctions, with all proceeds raising money for different charities.
The current whisky auction record is held by one of the 11, which sold for $94,000 (£59,350) at a US sale in March.
Despite the limited production run, their regular presence at auction appears now to be hindering their price, with buyers' enthusiasm waning.
This was the seventh to cross the auction floor inside a year.
All proceeds from the bottle, which was bought by an Etobicoke, Ontario couple, will go to the Wounded Warriors charity, which helps wounded Canadian soldiers and their families.
"Wee Janie (Janet Sheed Roberts) and this honorary Scotch are dear to me and my family, it's a privilege to see her continued contributions here in Canada," said Roberts' great-niece, Sally Gordon Woof, who travelled to Canada to be present at the October 19 auction.
The whisky auction record could be broken on October 28 when one of 12 bottles of Bowmore 1957 will appear at a Bonhams New York auction.
Another of the 12 failed to meet its £100,000 ($162,000) reserve when it auctioned in Edinburgh on October 10. The New York bottle has the same reserve.
