Bottled in 1991 and numbered "5", it comes with its own wooden case and estimate of £12,000-£14,000 ($20,000-24,000).

That valuation is shared by The Macallan Millennium, bottled in 1999 following a 50 year ageing process. It arrives at auction in a Caithness glass decanter.

A cask of 25-year-old The Macallan sold for $102,500 in Hong Kong last month.
