A case of six bottles of 1999 Romanee-Conti realised $97,994 at Acker Merrall & Condit’s January 14 wine auction in Hong Kong.

Domaine de la Romanee-Conti (DRC) produces some of the world’s most exclusive wines and the 1999 Romanee-Conti is among its most sought after vintages.

As the auction house puts it; “the 1999 RC is up there with the greatest ever made”.

Wine sales have been rising in China in recent years, as personal wealth has increased. Classic burgundies (like Romanee-Conti) are in particularly high demand.
