Three jeroboams of 1990 La Tache will star at Acker Asia's December 13-14 auction in Hong Kong, which features two world-class wine collections.
![]() La Tache 1990 is one of the world's finest wines, having been awarded a 100-point score by Robert Parker |
The jeroboams are still housed in the original wooden case (OWC) and remarkably, are numbered #00001, #00002 and #00003, making them the first bottles of the vintage to have been released. A spectacular lot of one of the world's most sought after wines, it is expected to sell for $12,500-18,750.
Also starring in the sale is a single methuselah of 1985 La Tache, which has been given an estimate of $3,750-6,250. It will be followed by a 12 bottle case of Henri Jayer's 1999 Vosne Romanee at $7,500-10,000.
The world record for a case of wine was set at Christie's in November, with 12 bottles of 1978 Romanee-Conti selling for $477,000 in Hong Kong.
