Sotheby's will celebrate the 270th anniversary of Moet & Chandon champagne with nearly a century of vintages offered in a dedicated sale, beginning with the "opulent" 1914.

The auction, to be held on November 13 in London, showcases Moet & Chandon's Grand Vintage collection, with the bottles consigned directly from the renowned house's cellars. The selection spans 1914-2004, and was chosen by Moet's chef de cave, Benoit Gouez.
The two bottles of the 1914 vintage are particularly special, valued at £4,800-6,000 ($7,633-9,541) each. "The harvest was brought forward due to the war, and the wine took a long time to develop, but today it is truly remarkable," explained Gouez.
