With the price of gold hitting record highs, Dallas Auction Gallery is offering a gentle reminder that consumers should do their homework before selling gold jewelry and accessories to their local dealer.
Tough economic times and compelling gold exchange infomercials have created a jewelry-selling craze, but savvy sellers should think twice before putting unwanted or old jewelry in an envelope. Dallas Auction Gallery will offer over 75 lots of estate jewelry in the April 20 auction. LiveAuctioneers will provide Internet live bidding.
Kathi Shuford, vice president of Dallas Auction Gallery, says, "Jewelry sold at a live auction is exposed to an international audience.
"Collectors of high-end and signed jewelry are Internet savvy. They understand the value of signed and period pieces and comb the on-line auction catalogues of high-end reputable auction houses for these valuable pieces.
"We are proud to be able to give our clients the opportunity to buy important estate pieces in our April 20 auction.
The most preeminent lot in this sale is the Van Cleef and Arpels 18K gold, diamond, and black onyx double scallop demi-paure set that is consigned from a local Dallas collector, estimated to sell for $90,000-$150,000."
