A sapphire and diamond ring, set with an oval cut 5.85 carat sapphire, realised $461,000 at Bonhams' October 17 Fine Jewellery sale in New York.

The sapphire was of Kashmir origin and mounted in 18k gold, flanked by half-moon cut diamonds.
An unmounted coloured diamond weighing 8.06 carats achieved a notable $389,000 while a diamond solitaire ring, at 10.48 carats, made $293,000.
A diamond, platinum and 18k gold ring made by Silverhorn and featuring an openwork geometric mount was another highlight - also selling for $293,000.
