Christie's first ever online-only watch auction has opened for bids today (October 1), offering a Patek Philippe Reference 3700 as top lot.

The sale has been dubbed The Essential Watch Collection, offering a range of collectors favourites.
The Patek Phillipe, a stainless steel Nautilus from the 1970s, will lead bids with a $25,000-30,000 estimate.
Also selling is a Rolex Daytona, Reference 6262, in stainless steel with a black matte dial, which is valued at $25,000-28,000. It will sell alongside a pink-gold Jaeger LeCoultre Reference 2721 at $6,000-8,000.
The sale closes for bids on October 8.
