As we've reported, an exceptional antique 'fan watch' made for the Chinese Emperor Qianlong is expected to lead the show at Antiquorum this weekend. Another exceptional timepiece being offered, however, is 'The Evening', an 18K gold, enamel and pearl set watch made circa 1800 for the Chinese market and listed at HK$700,000-900,000 (US$115,000).

The oval-shaped case and movement are rare to be found, while the fine enamel painting was possibly by the renowned enameller Lissignol, Jean Abraham (1749 - 1819). This lot was in the Lord Sandberg collection before 2001, and the same watch is in the collection of Patek Philippe Museum in Geneva.
With collectors' increasing interest in Patek Philippe timepieces, Antiquorum is offering a collection of Patek Philippe luxury modern wristwatches in this sale, among which Patek Philippe Ref. 3939HP is undoubtedly the most remarkable lot.
This very fine and rare, minute-repeating platinum wristwatch with one-minute tourbillon regulator and a platinum Patek Philippe buckle was first sold in November, 2004. It is accompanied by a fitted box, Certificate of Origin, COSC certificate and an additional case back, and listed at HK$2,850,000 - 3,250,000 (US$418,000).

There are several other typically impressive Pateks in the sale, but one of them is a little more unusual:
This is the Patek Philippe 'Flower Garden' (Le Jardin des Fleurs), a very fine and unique solar-powered and electro-mechanical brass table clock with polychrome cloisonné enamel panels depicting flowers in bloom and a dragonfly. It is expected to bring HK$300,000-500,000 (US$64,300).
Made in the 1990's, it is accompanied by a fitted service box and 2011 Patek Philippe service receipt. Antiquorum's auction takes place this Sunday (October 23).
