On December 11 in New York, Sotheby's will auction a custom-made pair of Bulgari earrings with profits to The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation (ETAF).

The earrings are inspired by Taylor's role in 1963's Cleopatra, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Made from 18-karat gold, spinel, turquoise and diamond, they will sell with a $18,000-22,000 estimate.
Elizabeth Taylor's jewellery collection was legendary, with the dazzling selection setting a world record for any jewellery auction at Christie's in 2011.
