One of the most valuable tiaras to come to auction in recent times will appear at Sotheby's Magnificent and Noble Jewels sale in Geneva on May 17.
The beautiful and rare tiara has a high end estimate of $10m and is attracting plenty of attention among investors.
It is composed of 11 rare Colombian emerald pear-shaped drops, weighing more than 500 carats.
"Sotheby's will sell the most valuable emerald and diamond tiara to have appeared at auction in over 30 years," confirmed David Bennett, Sotheby's chairman of jewellery for Europe and the Middle East.

It is thought to have been crafted by the famous jeweller Chaumet following its commission by Guido Count von Henckel, the First Prince von Donnersmarck, for his wife Princess Katharina.
The Donnersmarck jewellery collection was widely regarded as one of the leading assemblages in Europe at the time.
