The Colonel's Auction House of Las Vegas, Nevada, is holding an online sale of art and jewellery.
Among the jewellery highlights is this awesome rare solitaire alexandrite and ruby trillion ring. The ring is 1.73cts, boasting VVS clarity and exceptional colour.
Alexandrite is famous for displaying colour changes, depending on the nature of the ambient lighting - the so-called "alexandrite effect".

A closer look at the gemstone, which originates from Brazil, reveals subtle blends of colour in its texture, between rich green and orange. The accompanying 82ct ruby is from Madagascar.
The stones are affixed to a solid 4.5 grams, 14kt, size six yellow gold ring.
Bids on the alexandrite and ruby ring, which has an estimated value of $9,000-10,000, close May 19.
