A collection of five puppets from the hit stage production War Horse has sold for £68,000 ($89,848) at Bonhams.

Eight Joeys were made for the production

The star lot was Joey, the warhorse of the title, which sold for £35,000 ($46,245).

It's made from fabric stretched over a cane frame and requires three puppeteers to perform the movements.

Proceeds from the sale will go to the Handspring Trust, which designed the puppets for the show, and will fund its arts education arm in South Africa.
