British firm the Luxury Beverage Company is offering what it claims to be the most expensive bottles of whisky in the world - and it's difficult to argue the point given the lengths they've gone to in order to ensure it's the case.
The Isabella Original is offered for £3.8m ($6.2m), and combines over 8,500 diamonds with nearly 300 rubies and white gold all covering a fine English Crystal decanter and the Islay whisky inside.
There is also a special edition, a snip at £450,000 ($740,000), combining crystal, white gold and diamond lettering.

Isabella's whisky itself comes from the Island of Islay, often known the Queen of the Hebrides.
According to their website, the whisky is "single malt strength with no chill filtering, no additives or colouring, it is an outstanding expression of the Islay dram, matured in casks for many years it is classed as Very Old Single Malt Whisky and is a true declaration of the finest Scotch whisky has to offer."
The bottles make intriguing collectibles, although collectors looking to invest in whisky should be aware that they could assemble a substantial collection of top-notch whisky (like Willard Folsom's) for the price of one of these bottles.
Regardless, anyone who does purchase one of these bottles should think hard before drinking the contents with soda and sticking the bottle in the recycling.
