'Gosford Park' Rolls Royce hits the market at £40k

A 1933 Rolls Royce 20/25 Hooper D Back Limousine featured in director Robert Altman's Oscar-winning 2001 film, Gosford Park, has appeared on the classic cars market priced at £39,800.

According to a post-war petrol requisition slip found in the car, it was originally used to chauffeur the Earl of Strafford, the "Peer of the realm", to the House of Lords during the 1930s.

This sale marks the classic automobile's first appearance on the private collectors' market.
