If you're a collector of rare antique signs, figures or other 'golden era of advertising' promotional items, then you won't want to miss this upcoming advertising collectibles auction in central Pennsylvania between Friday and Saturday, April 20-21.
The 1,260-lot sale stars the impressive Coca-Cola advertising collection of the late Michael Narvaez. Moxie branded items from the Dick Shay collection and other soda pop lots will also auction.
Big collectibles include a parade hat for the Diligent Fire Company dating to the 1860s (pictured). It will appear estimated at $20,000-$30,000.

Also look out for a near-pristine Skinner's Satin oval sign bearing the image of a Native American in a full headdress. Billed as the "only example" the auctioneer has seen, it is expected to bring $8,000-$12,000.
And collectors of tobacco-related advertising will want to get a closer look at a circa-1880s Pride of Durham Smoking Tobacco tin [Wells & Hope Co.] with a lion motif. That's expected to sell for $3,000-$6,000.
Significant presale estimates in this Pennsylvania auction promise a big day for lovers of advertising collectibles. Watch this space for more news on the auction.
