Copake Auction's 19th annual Antique and Classic bicycle auction included consignments from museums and collectors from all over the US, Europe and Japan.
The sale took place on April 17, in New York state.
Star lots includes this historic circa 1883-86 Columbia built three-track tricycle, one of the first tricycles ever made in the United States.

This example was sold and distributed by Osborn & Alexander of San Francisco, California, as borne by its identifying original name tag.
Other features on the tricycle include rack & pinion steering, double drive, friction disc brake, large flange hubs and a restored saddle.
In excellent condition and billed as museum quality, the tricycle soared past is $16,000-22,000 price tag to command a final price of $31,600 (including buyer's premium).
