Don't get too frightened as you read this... Dan Morphy Auctions, specialising in unique collectibles, is holding a sale of Halloween memorabilia on September 11.
In total, the auction will offer 890 lots from various holiday festivals including Christmas - but the Halloween treasures are among the most bizarre.
The predicted top lot is an odd foot-shaped lantern with a green face. Like something out of a Tim Burton film, the foot also has faces painted on each of its five toes.
Highlights in the sale (left to right): an illuminating Halloween papier- |
Made from papier maché and measuring 7 ½ inches tall, the grinning foot is set to auction with an estimate of $2,500-$3,500.
Other gruesome highlights at the sale include a vegetable Halloween man with moveable glass eyes and radish arms. Perhaps not surprisingly, it is thought to be the only example of its kind.
Dan Morphy's sale takes place this Saturday in Denver, Pennsylvania and will prove that everyday can be a holiday to the attendant collectors and investors.
