The 1992 Barcelona Olympics was the first time professional players participated in the basketball competition. The US' "Dream Team" - so called for their stunning roster - were untouchable, and comfortably won the final over Croatia by 117-85.
SCP called it "arguably the most important game-used basketball ever to hit the market", which explains its strong showing.
The auction also featured the $138,000 sale of Ernie Banks' Chicago Cubs jersey.
