An astonishing collection of mint, packaged 1948 Bowman cards is coming to auction.
The unique lot, which feature 19 of its 24 original packs, was found in an attic in Tennessee earlier this year.
This is what $500,000 of baseball cards looks like
The owner contacted the Mile High Card Company. Company boss Brian Drent was on a plane almost immediately.
Mile High explained: "The '48 Bowman baseball collection is one of the most iconic issues of the hobby, the first mainstream collection to be distributed after World War II and the pioneer of the modern age of baseball cards.
"If you're a collector with a flair for something unique, something the sports card community only hoped existed in theory, this is quite literally your once in a lifetime opportunity!"
The lot is expected to sell for around $500,000 at the June 15-ending auction.
