Bidding on a Superman contest winner’s ring from 1940 will start at $1,000 ahead of a sale of comic book art and memorabilia at Heritage Auctions.
The ring is one of only 21 survivors
The fine grade lot is one of 21 survivors of this ultra-rare design, regarded as the most sought after toy ring on the market.
Known as the Supermen of America ring, it was issued by National Comics Publications. That’s the company that officially became DC Comics in 1977.
One very fine specimen sold for a record $13,100 on eBay in 2010.
The auction will take place on November 16-18 in Beverly Hills.
