Rolex wristwatches are normally great long-term investments - but how about one that's been to the Moon.
The personal Rolex of Mr Ron Evans, Mission Command Module Pilot of Apollo 17, is up for auction valued at $30,000.
Evan's Rolex Speedmaster Professional remained on the Moon during NASAs last-ever lunar excursion.
The watch is engraved on the back, reading "FLOWN ON APOLLO XVII 6-19 DECEMBER 72 ON MOON 11-17 DEC RON EVANS."
But eagle-eyed Apollo fans will have noticed that, if Evans was the Command Module Pilot, he won't have worn the watch on the surface on the Moon.
Instead, Evans placed the watch in his Personal Preference Kit (or PPK) and his two crewmates took it to the surface with them, while Evans continued to orbit the command module around the Moon.
So, while the Rolex has been on the Moon, even if it wasn't worn on the Moon.
The watch comes with a letter of authenticity from the astronaut's wife Mrs Evans asserting the validity of the watch's lunar claim.
Online bidding at Heritage Auctions website continues for another six days.
