A Gomz Leningrad Space Model II camera achieved £17,000 ($28,726) at Special Auction Services' (SAS) sale of photographic and scientific equipment on April 30 in the UK.
The lot is one of 10-12 such cameras ever created and was intended for use by Russian cosmonauts during the 1960s, although it's unknown whether this particular example was flown.
