An Apollo 11 mission-flown Robbins medal realised $25,000 at Nate D Sanders in Los Angeles on December 17.
Robbins medals were produced for each mission of the US space programme as souvenirs for the astronauts. Each of the missions has a different design.
They are among the most desirable items of space memorabilia, with Apollo 11 examples having grown in value by 9.6% per annum between 2004 and 2014.
The lot comes from the collection of Apollo 13 astronaut Jack Swigert.
