The Smithsonian National Postal Museum has announced that its William H Gross Stamp Gallery will be the largest philatelic gallery in the world when it opens on September 22 in Washington, DC.

The gallery will showcase stamps from across the world, beginning with the Windows of America exhibit, which will greet visitors with a monumental wall of vibrant stamp art.
Also featuring will be six permanent displays, including one devoted to the famous Inverted Jenny, and an exhibit focusing on stamps with a space exploration theme.
A rotating exhibit will display the collections of well-known philatelists, including members of the Smithsonian's Council of Philatelists.
It total, the gallery will include more than 20,000 philatelic objects to explore.
