'Freaks' and rarities of the world descend on Raritan's rare stamps auction

Stamp collectors are in for a treat early next month as Raritan Stamps holds its 47th telephone and internet only stamp auction.

The auction contains 1,486 lots of rare Worldwide Stamps and Postal History with emphasis of USA Freaks and Errors, China, Eastern and Western Europe; comprehensive Russian area material, including the Oddbjoern Iglebaek Collection Of Ukraine and property of 29 other owners.

The USA section contains Modern Errors, Freaks and Oddities, including an NYCE stamp with inverted centre, which would make a good investment.

From Russia, there is a nice variety of Imperial Postal Stationery items, including very rare Romanov Dynasty Stationery Proofs; elusive Imperial Postage Stamps and Postal History, including Official Stamps a fabulous RSFSR and Soviet Union issues,

There are also outstanding semi-postal and air post issues, magnificent foreign post offices abroad, Wrangel's army issues and valuables from the Fabergé, Mertens and other renowned collections.

The stamps and postal history of Armenia, Baltic States, Russian Crete, Georgia, North Ingermanland, Tannu Tuva, Ukraine, including the Oddbjoern Iglebaek Collection of Ukraine are also represented and not to be missed.

Asian section includes philatelic material from China of all regimes, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Laos, Mongolia, Nepal and Vietnam.

With a large assortment of Worldwide Zeppelin & Pioneer Flight Covers and Cards also available, in total the estimated prices exceeds $600,000 in the sale, which takes place on March 3-4.
